| Who knows Tallahassee business better?
| ||||||||||||||
So you are interested in the Tallahassee business community? "I have often heard it said, 'That Tallahassee is hard to break into. It is still the good old boy/gal network.' Well I would have to agree on the latter but not on the former. Quickly, I might add that we plan to create blog entry on why we think that it is good that my town still has the "Good Ole 'Gal' (Boy) network, but for now let me get to what you want to know: How to break into my town's circle of business. You ready? You have to have money or time. Yep it is that simple. I know, I know your thinking back to your macro economics class, your intro to marketing class, some book you bought at the book store, or that smart 'rump' classmate you put up with in college, and are saying to yourself 'that I am a genius for paying attention to my businesses processors at TCC and FSU,' but before I lose your interest you must give me credit for testing your attention span and your devotion to breaking into Tally Town. The honest truth is that you really have to give your time. My fellow Tallahasseans are very involved in the community. Those citizens who are most successful in business are some of the citizens with the biggest hearts. Pick a non profit organization. One for which you are passionate. I would recommend the GTCC, Red Cross, United Way, American Cancer Society, etc. Attend a few meetings, and then approach the leadership about getting on a committee or just helping out for a shorter time span with an event. Get to know the people in the organization and give every bit of your donated time your best effort. If you give the organization a good product / service for free, everyone will know that the product / service that you charge for must be as good, if not better. That is a 'sure fire way' to become a Good Ole 'Gal' (Boy) in Tallahassee!" ~ Ms. Tallahassee | |||||||||||||||
